Why is it important to have identity theft monitoring services?

Identity theft cases are on the rise all around the world. Hackers are becoming more sophisticated in their tactics to get your personal information. In 2022 alone, there were over 422 million accounts that were breached1. Even if you keep your information secure, there are ways for hackers to attack large institutions like hospitals, credit card companies, and even government sites to obtain your private information.

While identity theft monitoring software cannot prevent Identity theft, OmniWatch can provide early warning systems, along with ways to make it harder for someone to cause lasting damage. OmniWatch also ensures that if you are a victim we can provide dedicated resolution specialists, along with insurance* to help you get your money back, and ensure you don’t have to spend weeks dealing with it.

What’s included in OmniWatch's identity theft protection services?

OmniWatch offers two different plans to provide you with options so you can find the best identity theft protection for families, children, your parents, or yourself. Both plans include up to $2 million in identity insurance2, monthly credit reports from TransUnion, 24/7 U.S.-based restoration support, and more! Why don’t I recognize some of the companies that my report says may have leaked my personal data?

Many companies sell their customers’ legally obtained information to other companies to sell for marketing purposes (OmniWatch doesn’t do this with your data). Your data may have been bundled and sold to a company that was breached even without you having shared your information with the breached party.

In some instances, hackers obtain lists of personal information and are then hacked by a rival hacking team. These are just some of the ways that your data can be accessed by hackers and involved in breaches without your knowledge.

You can learn more here.

What kind of data can hackers access and leak onto the dark web?

There are many types of data that hackers can gain access to online. Our dark web monitoring can alert you for over 130 categories of information that could be exposed due to breaches. Some of the categories include health status, marital status, search history, purchase history, smoking status, drug use, and many more. What should I do if my identity is stolen?
